Is a 911 text call to replace 911 voice calls?
Use text messages only if you cannot call 911. If you have a voice, we can help you get out of an emergency more quickly, identify the location and what dangers first responders may have. However, if you can't make a voice, you can use 911 text to share the same information.
The most important thing to remember is to call if you can, write if you can't.
